Animal-based proteins such as fishmeal and animal by-products are valuable nutrients with high digestibility, but they are associated with cost fluctuations, pathogen contamination, and environmental impacts. Therefore, plant-based proteins are used, but they have the disadvantages of inappropriate amino acid profiles, anti-nutritional factors, and mycotoxin contamination. Insect meal contains favorable nutrients and low production costs and is environmentally friendly which could be the sustainable raw materials for animals.

The ban of using long-term supplementation of animal feeds with antibiotics at subtherapeutic doses was announced in several countries to reduce the problems on bacterial resistance bacteria and antibiotic residue in animal products. The deterioration on animal’s performance, health and products are observed after this regulation. Therefore, dietary supplements with growth promoters and immunomodulation properties are interested by researchers and farmers to solve these problems.

Reduce the human error and provide precision management program can promote the benefits on animal performances and heath. Therefore, automatic system with real time evaluation have used in animal production.

The precision animal nutrition is the research to make a perfect diets to animal requirement which promote the improvement of performances, health and product quality.
